Nashville Tour
Fortunes, Fiddles and Fried Chicken Tour Thursday, July 23, 9 am-4 pm
Join us Thursday, July 23 before the Annual Conference for a tour through Nashville, Tenn.
The first stop is the Ryman Auditorium, home of WSM's Grand Ole Opry for over 30 years. Walking into the Ryman, you can almost feel the presence of the country legends that have graced its stage. Decades prior to the likes of Hank Williams, Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl having filled the hall with song and laughter, the Ryman had already played host to some of the most important figures of the past including President Theodore Roosevelt, John Philip Sousa, Will Rogers and Enrico Caruso.
No trip to Nashville is complete without a visit to The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The permanent exhibit, Sing Me Back Home: A Journey Through Country Music, displays a rich collection of costumes, memorabilia, instruments, photographs, manuscripts and other objects that tell the legendary story of country music.
Guests wrap up the music portion of the tour with a drive down Music Row before heading to the Hermitage – the home of President Andrew Jackson.
Experience Tennessee as it was 150 years ago at the Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson. Meet the President and his First Lady in the Museum. Tour the Mansion and grounds with Jackson and his family. The Hermitage is a National Historic Landmark standing on 650 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands. The recently restored mansion exhibits the most complete collection of original furnishings and personal belongings of any early presidential home in America. The magnificent mansion was his haven, a peaceful shelter from political tension and turmoil.
The total cost is $135 per person, which includes transportation, meals and all tour tickets. If you would like to register for the tour please check the corresponding box on the Annual Conference Registration Form and send to 2501 Aerial Center Parkway Ste. 103, Morrisville, NC 27560 or fax to 919.459.2075.
Next, enjoy lunch at the world famous Wildhorse Saloon. Grab some down home country cooking including fried chicken, southern succotash, barbecue pulled pork salad and fresh fruit cobbler. |
